A C-clamp system holds it on — nothing drilled, nothing screwed, and it lifts off when you move out, which matters in a rental. Desks from 0.2" to 2" thick are within range. The frame is fully welded steel under a powder coat that resists rust and sheds dust, carrying up to 11 lbs.

The frame stays open with slots along it, so cables route in and out at the point you need instead of running the length of a closed box, and air moves freely round a surge protector rather than pooling heat. Hardware and instructions are supplied.
